"3 Ball" ZinfandelPaso Robles, Sonoma County, Amador County
3 of the best Zinfandel appellations brought together to make a wine that combines the best characteristics of each region. We primarily source our Sonoma County fruit from both the Dry Creek Valley, known for its amazingly dense, spicy, and muscular wines, and the Russian River Valley where cool temperatures yield wines of depth and great acidity. Our Paso Robles component hails from the West Side where ancient vines deliver flavors of raspberry jam and spices. The mountain foothills of Amador provide a rustic and warm component to the blend adding layers of brambly fruit. We add some Petite Sirah and Carignane to tie all of these Zins together with a blueberry/cranberry epoxy. We hope you find this wine to be a perfect representation of how you showcase these three great regions in on bottle. This is 3Ball.
Just an amazing nose of warmth and comfort featuring aromatics of raspberry, dark cherry, the briar from a brand new pipe, and root beer. The blueberry flavors hit at first followed by various black fruits that wrap around the tongue in a lush, seamless blanket. You get a faint wisp of new oak towards the middle followed by cranberry and raspberry supported on a seam of bright acidity.
Pairing Suggestions: We would pair this with grilled meats such as lamb or BBQ ribs, hearty stews, and always a pasta in rich, red tomato sauce.

You know Christian Tietje – he’s the surfer, punk rocker, metal artist winemaker who started Four Vines wines in a Berkeley backyard. And then he grew Four Vines’ head-spinning Zinfandel and racy, unoaked “Naked” Chardonnay into national sensations. – and cashed out. His 3-Ball Zinfandel blends California’s top three Zin appellations – Sonoma, Paso, and Amador – into one bottle. View 3 Ball Winery Website >>
