"This terrific Zin brings classic varietal character to the table, with a full body, robust alcohol, dryness and intensely concentrated flavors of blackberry, blackcurrant, dark chocolate, Chinese plum sauce and black pepper. Showing a mastery of the art of blending, its grapes come from north to south in the valley, Calistoga to Atlas Peak and multiple appellations in between. This is one of the greatest Zinfandel values in recent memory.: - S.H.

Krutz Family Cellars
Krutz Family Cellars was born in the summer of 2003 in Monterey Country, California. Owner and winemaker Patrick Krutz started the winery with the idea of producing 60 cases of built-by-hand (and feet) wine for family and friends. What we did know was how many cases we were going to make that year; what we didn’t know is where it would take us. After growing each year and moving a couple times, the winery and tasting room has settled in Santa Rosa, California. Since Krutz Family Cellars’ conception, there has been one constant which is first and foremost, one that defines us, and that is a sensational portfolio of wines that are true to varietal character, vineyard fingerprint, with individual style, and un-surpassed quality you can taste. In just a few short years, Patrick has been able to identify grapes from some of the most prestigious vineyards in California. Once the grapes are in the winery we guide the wine with a light hand, and the end result is a wine that speaks for itself.
Founded by an army and family of one, Patrick Krutz, Krutz Family Cellars has just recently grown into its “full” business name. The 2003-’06 vintages were crafted entirely by Patrick. Youngest brother Cole came on the scene in 2007 and has been assisting in the cellar ever since. Also joining the operation (and the family) in 2008 was Rebecca Krutz. She and Patrick met in Napa Valley in the summer of 2007 and were married the next year. Together, they have two sons, Patrick II and Tripp Morris, along with a daughter, Ellie. When the business was founded, the word “Family” was included due to Patrick’s close family ties, but now it encompasses an even bigger and broader meaning. After all, anyone that enjoys a bottle of Krutz Family Cellars is a part of our extended family.
The Magnolia, the state flower and tree of Mississippi, is a symbol of our southern roots and way of life. It’s been said, “One can’t get to where they are going without knowing where they’ve been.” We at Krutz Family Cellars take pride of where we’re from and where we are aiming to go. Some of the virtues and ways of life that were instilled in us growing up in the south are well evident today in our business, our personal life, and our wines. These same virtues and values that we will no doubt work to pass to our children too. Our wines are true, honest, and fun, just as the folks who build them.
From all of us here at Krutz Family Cellars, we invite you to be a part of our extended family. Slow down, sit back, relax, and enjoy our wines. View Krutz Family Cellars Website >>
