Bargemone is among the foremost estates of the Coteaux d’Aix appellation of Provence. A benchmark producer of the delicious, dry rose for which Provence is famous, the Commanderie was founded by Templar Knights in the 13th century, and is home to a proud viticultural tradition and more than 160 acres of sustainably grown vineyards.

Vineyards: 163 acres under vine, with 138 acres red varieties (Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan, Counoise) and 25 acres white varieties (Grenache Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Ugni Blanc, and Rolle (Vermentino)). Clay/limestone soils. *in conversion to organic farming, certified QualiSud.

Composition: 30% Grenache, 28% Syrah, 23% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cinsault, 5% Rolle, 2% Carignan, 2% Counoise.

Viticulture & Vinification: Yields of 4 tons/acre. Vines average 30+ years in age. Direct pressing, no maceration. 3 weeks fermentation at 55 degrees (F). No malolactic fermentation.

Tasting Notes: Offers classic aromas of wild strawberries and red currants, with a light, floral character and a crisp, bone-dry palate. A rose of reference, to be enjoyed year-round on its own or with a wide range of lighter fare and Provence-inspired cuisine.
