Description
The Rook is a beautiful Merlot from two Yakima Valley vineyards. Here this grape is profoundly complex, exuberant fruit aromas and flavors, rich body, and a long silky finish all contribute to form a complete rich red wine. The wine was aged in mostly neutral French oak to keep the bright fruit flavors lively. Showing red and black fruits, sarsaparilla, orange peel, cinnamon and tobacco, this crisply textured red is balanced by fine grained tannins and a rich, pillow soft mid-palate. The Rook is an unabashed Washington State Merlot destined to help upright the California Sidewayís lunacy.
