Description
Deep, brilliant ruby red color. Generous and elegant nose with all the charm of the Aglianico grape: mineral, stylish floral hints, fresh and bottled berry fruit, earth and autumn leaves. Gutsy and determined on the palate; soil, stone, iron. Rich and deep with a considerable structure, supported by sweet, silky tannins. A good acidity lengthens the deep, well-defined finish.
Manual harvested grapes, placed in wooden crates and further selected in the winery. Destemming and soft crushing followed by fermentation in stainless steel vats; no use of selected yeasts. Aging in Slavonian oak barrels for 12-18 months. Aged in bottles at least 12 months. Aging potential is at least 10-15 years. Aglianico del Vulture is one of the longest-lived wine in Italy. It is interested to follow its development from release on the market through the years to follow.
