Description
The nose offers layers of red fruit, especially sweet cherry and strawberry, mixed with earthy and spicy tones. Bright acidity and mild tannins frame the cherry-vanilla flavors on the early and mid-palate. The red fruit continues through the finish and is joined by floral notes and spice.
The Akins Family Vineyard is located a bit closer to the coast just west near Philo on Highway 128. This vineyard is planted with some of the newer identified Dijon clones of 115, 777, and 667.
