Description
This wine was introduced as a one-time bottling in 2002 after a wild fire struck the vineyard’s surrounding hillsides. The residual ash and smoke resonated in the Syrah grapes, creating a very memorable wine. Year after year, the story of this wine is kept alive! Now, 10 vintages later, enjoy this bold Syrah comprised from several exceptional vineyards in the Columbia, Yakima, and Walla Walla Valleys.
This 2017 Syrah shows deep purple hues in the glass and mouthwatering aromas of candied sugarplum and fresh red raspberry swirl throughout. The slight slate and vanilla notes are interlaced with juicy flavors of blackberry jam, Bing cherry compote and subtle hints of cocoa nib. A mouthcoating Syrah from another hot summer in the Yakima Valley has our crew asking for more! This is a delicious full-bodied, yet elegantly structured Syrah that is enjoyable now. For cellaring time, we suggest drinking it now – 2025.
