Aromas of ripe plum, cola, and cherry tobacco lead to flavors of black cherry, blueberry, and mocha. A wonderful balance of Russian River Valley fruit and integrated Damy French Oak flavors linger in the palate. The result is a very elegant and enjoyable example of the Russian River Valley.
The grapes for this wine come from two well known Russian River Valley vineyards: the Skikos Vineyard (667 Clone) on Piner Road, and the Winkler Vineyard (Pommard Clone) north of the winery on Green Valley Road.
Following a five day cold soak, the grapes were yeasted and tank fermented at cool temperatures. Multiple daily pump overs allowed for color and flavor extraction. The must was then pressed to barrel for aging in primarily Damy French oak.
